This piece was the last in a series of 3 canvases in which the goal was to utilize colors leftover from previous projects in order to create a work that wasn't too planned.
While the base color was applied with a brush, the rest of the colors were splashed on the canvas using palette knives and scrapers. Most of my paintings are created while laying flat, but in this series I allowed it to be upright on the canvas to see how my paint application changed when adding the colors.
Hanging wire is installed on the back of the canvas.
Spray varnish in a satin finish is applied to preserve the painting.
